Northwest Endodontics is a dental specialty practice, dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases involving the teeth and their supporting structures.  We specialize in root canal therapy, retreatment, apical microsurgery, and pulpal regeneration.  Our office philosophy is to provide patient-centered care of the highest quality.  With this in mind, we utilize the latest evidence-based techniques and technologies to ensure clinical excellence.

Northwest Endododontics is one of the oldest endodontic practices in the western suburbs of Portland, Oregon.  Located in Washington County, we treat patients from Beaverton, Hillsboro, Portland, and beyond.  Our longevity is a testament to the personalized service we provide to our patients.  We strive to make the patient experience pleasant and comfortable, while providing the best possible treatment outcomes.

Dr. Alyson Barnes received her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.  After graduation she worked as a researcher and a high school chemistry teacher before deciding to pursue a career in dentistry.  Dr. Barnes received her dental degree from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA and then worked in private practice in Massachusetts before deciding to specialize in endodontics.  She received her certificate in Endodontics from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR.

Dr. Barnes is a licensed pilot, loves to sail, and when she’s up in the air, on the water or performing root canals, she enjoys exploring the numerous restaurants and watering holes in the Portland area (and then running or hiking to burn off all of those calories).

Dr. Rares Deca is proud to call beautiful Oregon his family home. He grew up in Portland and graduated with honors from Portland University with a BA degree in Biology. Dr Deca received his dental degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (Class of 2009). After graduation he completed a residency in advanced general dentistry (AEGD) and then worked in private practice in Massachusetts before deciding to specialize in endodontics. Dr. Deca received his certificate in Endodontics from Columbia University Postgraduate Endodontics Program (Class of 2014).

Dr. Deca is whiskey, foodie, soccer, and travel aficionado (when he is not busy saving teeth from extraction). Most of his spare time is spent with his wife as they try to keep up with their 4 year old son!

Fun fact: Both Dr. Barnes and Dr. Deca worked as general dentists in the same building in Massachusetts for about 2 years (2010-2012) without crossing paths, just to meet in 2016, become friends and eventually endodontic partners.
